Hello! I am so happy that you're here! My name is Riata Cummings and I am the cowgirl behind the lens here at Cavvy Camera. I grew up on a ranch in Southeastern Utah, and I have been riding horses since before I could walk. I have an incredible passion for the western lifestyle, and I love sharing that lifestyle through photography.

I enjoy competing in versatility ranch horse and reined cow horse shows, as well as roping, riding and all things cowboy. I've been a rodeo lover for as long as I can remember. Now, as a wife and a mother, I am working to instill the values of the western lifestyle into my children by having them help with our own small ranch and bevy of beautiful animals. 

A cavvy is a group of ranch horses. It is derived from the Spanish word "cavvietta" which refers to the whole group of horses that a ranch owns. The cavvy was traditionally gathered into a temporary rope corral in the morning where all the cowboys would select their mount for the day.
